Guest Lecturer

I am currently contributing to teacher training programs that may not have in-house resources to teach about yoga’s rich and complex history, as well as lectures/discussions on the Yogasūtra of Patañjali, The Bhagavad Gītā, and an introduction to Sanskrit.

Yoga Sutra with Sofi was an experience that I will never forget. Sofi gave us a lot of invaluable information that is useful for everyday life. It was like a glue that brought together many pieces of what I learned before. The greatest gift of this workshop to me was learning about the significance of meditation in a deep and beautiful way. I think Sofi did a great job in simplifying and making all the deep and heavy information accessible.

I highly recommend Sofi’s Yoga Sutra workshop for the practitioner who is curious about the philosophy and context of yoga but may not know where to start. Sofi was able to break down these expansive teachings in a way that is relatable and encourages you to think deeply after the workshop is over...which is no easy feat! This workshop is welcoming to all levels and is worth revisiting time and time again. Thank you, Sofi!

Sofi makes the ancient teachings of the Yogasutra relevant and relatable.  She approaches the text with clarity, lightness, and her own curiosity, making it comfortable and enjoyable to learn. I always leave her workshops feeling grounded and with some nuggets of insight that are useful in my own life.

I attended Sofi's History of Yoga as part of my yoga teacher training program and loved every minute of it. It was fascinating to learn the origin story of yoga and how Western influence has changed the practice during our lifetime. After just one workshop,  I am ready to sign up for another to dive deeper into many of the topics she covered.

I took Sofi’s Introduction To Sanskrit workshop and found her teaching style elegant and engaging. I was amazed that she could give all of the basic instructions in one workshop. She covered so much information, but it was manageable because of how it was organized. This experience gave me more context, more appreciation for this sacred language, and more understanding of the structural qualities of Sanskrit.

Sofi’s presentation on the history of yoga was delivered with humor, clarity, and deep presence. It was a joy! Thank you, Sofi.
